Versatility: The Blazer
As a style blogger, there is a constant need to refresh my wardrobe with the latest clothes and accessories. As you can imagine, this can get very expensive and cluttered! Since my day job is in social work (not the most lucrative field!) and I haven’t hit the lottery yet, I have to put myself on a budget for these purchases and choose each season’s pieces strategically. You’ve probably heard me talk about versatility in several of my Instagram and Facebook posts. I may purchase a couple of trendy items each season, but the bulk of what I buy is classic pieces I can mix and match and wear to both work and on the weekends.
This ivory blazer is the perfect example of a versatile and classic piece. I purchased this exact blazer 3 years ago from H&M but it still remains in heavy rotation in my wardrobe. I paired it here with an ivory blouse and frayed hem jeans, but I’ve also worn it to work multiple times over a variety of different colored tops and work pants or skirts. I’ve also paired it over a sleeveless shift dress when I wanted to cover my arms.
These nude Sam Edelman block heels compliment this blazer with jeans look, and are comfortable enough to wear for hours. My leopard clutch is the perfect pop of pattern for this neutral outfit.
I’ve always been a fan of gold jewelry- pretty sure I got that from my mom, whom I still have never seen wear anything but gold. My gold watch, bracelet, rings, and necklace add a little warmth to all the neutrals.
